[Merope is sitting in front of a shack on the beach, and there's a wide metal bowl in front of her. It's filled with sea water, and there's a bit of sand swirling around at the bottom. Her hair is in her face, but she picks up a handful of sand and adds it to the vortex in the bowl.]
